Micro Focus to Showcase Advances in PL/I Application Modernization at the 2013 SHARE Conference

Session will outline how companies can migrate existing mainframe PL/I applications with minimal change to more cost-effective platforms running Windows, Unix, and Linux

Micro Focus (LSE: MCRO.L), the leading provider of enterprise application modernization, testing, and management solutions, will be hosting a speaker session “Micro Focus PL/I - Re-deploy Fit For Purpose PL/I Apps” at the SHARE Conference in San Francisco, CA on February 7, 2013.

During the session, Davinder Athwal, Technical Architect at Micro Focus will describe Micro Focus PL/I product features and Micro Focus Enterprise Server, which supports execution of “fit for purpose” mainframe PL/I and COBOL programs under control of Micro Focus JES/JCL, CICS, and IMS subsystems across the different Enterprise architectures. Athwal will also provide insight into Micro Focus PL/I’s support of EXEC languages - in particular EXEC SQL using Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and IBM’s UDB (DB2). The presentation will be followed by a demonstration.
