Description

The Custom Metric Ingestion (CMI) tools enable you to ingest the custom data (metrics) from the Metrics Data store into COSO.

It includes a set of four tools, which you must run in the following sequence:

  • codatoexcel tool: This tool converts the data in the Metrics Data store (Operations Agent database) to excel files. It creates two excel workbooks:
    • <DataSource.xlsx>: For every custom metric data source, the tool creates an excel workbook. For every system metrics class (such as GLOBAL, CPU, DISK, NETIF, and FILESYSTEM) the tool creates a worksheet inside the workbook.
    • Configuration.xlsx: These excel files contain metadata of raw, enrichment, and forecast tables. You must modify these excel files to make them consumable by the exceltojson_schema tool.
  • exceltojson_schema tool: This tool uses the excel files generated by the codatoexcel tool (or any other excel files that are in the required format) to create metadata, enrichment (daily, hourly, and forecast), and retention JSON files.
  • exceltojson_oacollector tool: This tool uses the excel files generated by the codatoexcel tool and creates Agent Metric Collector configuration files.
  • Content Deployment and Validation tool (CDV tool): This tool uploads the content to OpsBridge Content Manager, installs it, starts the metric collection, and also validates the content.
