Description

The Training Requests process application is composed of three applications and provides a framework that can be easily modified to support unique needs.

TRAINING REQUESTS

The Training Requests application allows you to manage the training requests for your different users. It allows users to request training for a student for any number of available classes. This is especially helpful for scenarios such as onboarding where a new employee might need to be enrolled in several training classes. For each class requested, a new Class Enrollment item is created. The Training Request has approval control over each enrollment record so items can be handled individually or at all at once.

Using SBM's notification features, users can be notified when they have been successfully enrolled in a class. Upon completion of the classes, the request can be closed.

TRAINING CLASSES

The Training Classes application provides a location to manage different classes. The primary table is used to store a particular instance of a class, such as the Introductory Class that starts in March and ends in April. Auxiliary tables are used to store reusable information such as class types, courses, and materials. New Training Classes can be submitted by providing a desired course and type, and then the training team can approve or reject the class. Classes may or may not have a schedule, instructor or room, as determined by type. Approved classes become available for enrollment either through a training request or by direct enrollment.

CLASS ENROLLMENTS

The Class Enrollments application records each specific request for a student to be enrolled in a single training class. Managers or the education team have the ability to approve or reject enrollment requests. Approved enrollments become owned by the student so they have an active SBM item to represent active enrollment. Once the class is completed, these requests can be closed, indicating that the student has taken the class.

Note: The application is provided as an MSD or an MSS. The MSD file is the raw composer blueprint whereas the MSS is a snapshot file which contains a few sample items for the included auxiliary tables and combines the applications into one application group for Work Center. Only one download is necessary.
