PlateSpin ranked number two on the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 for the second year in a row

2 October 2008

PlateSpin ULC, a Novell® company, today announced it has been awarded a 2008 Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Leadership Award. The Leadership Award recognizes companies who demonstrate technological leadership in four industry sub-categories: emerging technologies, hardware/semiconductor, software and telecommunications. In addition to receiving the Leadership Award for the software category, PlateSpin was also ranked number two on the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 for the second year in a row. Companies ranked among the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 are eligible for the broader Deloitte North American Technology Fast 500, the esteemed annual ranking of the 500 fastest growing technology, media and telecommunications companies in the United States and Canada.

"The Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Leadership Award celebrates the elite companies in the Canadian technology sector," said John Ruffolo, National Leader, Technology, Media & Telecommunications Industry Group, Deloitte. "We salute the outstanding accomplishments of PlateSpin, whose ability to create a distinct competitive advantage in a high-growth market makes it poised to join the ranks of other Canadian companies that have grown into global leaders."

The Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Leadership Award is one of four separate awards categories that make up the 2008 Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Awards Program. The Deloitte Technology Fast 50 is a ranking of the 50 fastest growing Canadian technology companies, based on the percentage of revenue growth over five years. To qualify, companies must have been in business at least five years, have revenues of at least $5 million, be headquartered in Canada, own proprietary technology, and conduct research and development activities in Canada.

"We are pleased to be recognized for the second time among the prestigious list of companies on the Deloitte Technology Fast 50," said Stephen Pollack, vice president of strategy at Novell and founder of PlateSpin. "Receiving the Leadership Award only elevates this recognition for the PlateSpin team and invigorates our focus on developing the best next generation workload management solutions to meet our customers' needs."
