Micro Focus Launches Archiving Migration Program to Address Complex Market Dynamics and Daunting Regulations like MiFID II, GDPR

The ‘Information Archiving Safe-Landing Program’ Creates a Smooth Transition for Organizations Wanting to Migrate to Digital Safe 10/Retain 4.4 for Enhanced Risk Management

22 February 2018

Micro Focus (LSE: MCRO; NYSE: MFGP) today launched the Information Archiving Safe Landing Program, making it easier for organizations to avoid business disruption, minimize data exposure to material risk and address complex, evolving regulatory requirement demands, such as General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and MiFID II.

The combination of increasing investigative and legal scrutiny and evolving privacy and regulatory requirements are forcing information archiving technology providers to make difficult decisions. They can embark on a costly, long-term solution upgrade to meet growing demands, shift to a new and unproven technology or abandon the market altogether. As a result customer’s data can be exposed to material risk, and leave them looking for a safe landing to protect and govern their data with confidence.

To address these challenges the Information Archiving Safe Landing Program combines professional migration and information auditing services with either of Micro Focus’ archiving products, Digital Safe 10 and Retain 4.4, for a smooth transition from products from vendors such as Smarsh, Actiance, Veritas and CA.

“As the archiving market evolves, software vendors need to evolve with it or place their customers at potential risk,” said Joe Garber, global head of product marketing, information management and governance at Micro Focus. “This new program provides a ‘safe landing’ to organizations who want to avoid an uncertain future with their current provider, which may be caused by EOLs, unproven migration processes, or significant executive or strategic change.”

Customers who migrate to Micro Focus also can address new archiving challenges such as the governance of social media and carrier-level archiving of text messages (SMS and MMS) for compliance purposes. They can strategically refine and extend their information archiving strategies to tackle a broader set of compliance requirements and unleash the untapped potential of archived data to gain greater business insight.

Micro Focus has decades worth of experience migrating information from other vendors to its trusted, proven information archiving solutions.  This program will allow customers to take advantage of this deep domain expertise, plus deliver solution flexibility (on-premises or in the cloud), access to market-leading supervision technology and peace of mind knowing the products have been enhanced for market requirements like GDPR, MiFID II and others.

The Safe Landing Program is available globally at a special promotional price. Digital Safe 10 and Retain 4.4 are both currently available. For more information, visit: the Information Archiving Safe Landing Program.
