Buttons allow easy access to Revolve functions and features. Names and
functionality may differ depending upon the windows in which the buttons
appear. The following table is organized alphabetically for easy
reference.

The Aboutbutton displays copyright and user information. |

The Add Components button, available on the Project
Manager dialog and as an option on the Project menu,
displays the Add Components dialog. In a sharable project this
option is only available to the administrator. The Add... button
appears in other Revolve windows and displays dialogs specifically used
for adding elements. |

The Administration button enables you to use the group
worksheet administration functions. |
|
The Add selected to worksheet button stores the selected
year 2000 candidates in the SmartFind-Fix/2000 worksheet. |
|
The Add to... button appears in several Revolve windows and
displays dialogs specifically used for adding elements. |
|
The Apply Fixes button applies a set of fixes to the
sources. |
|
The Assign Scope button sets the scope of an analysis to a
specified subproject. In most Tools and Browsers this button invokes the
Choose dialog where defined subprojects are listed and can be
selected for query. In the Shell tool this button assigns the
scope to the element that is displayed at the bottom of the Revolve
desktop. |

The Assign Year Type button automatically assigns year
types to the selected data items, using the predefined rules. |
|
The Backtrack button stops the Execution Simulator process
and moves the cursor back one logical level each time it is pressed. |
|
The Backup one logical level button selects the next
highest object in the Revolve database hierarchy. |
|
The Candidate Wizard button builds a candidate list using
the wizard. |
|
The Case Insensitive button indicates that the text
search should not take character case into consideration during the
search process. |
|
The Change Display Type button changes the hierarchy that
is displayed in the Set View. |
|
The Classifications button, located in the Function
Point Analysis tool, displays a File Types dialog. From this
dialog you can make considerations for files that are used in the
analysis calculations. |

The Code Flow View button invokes the Code Flow view
for the selected item. |
|
The Collapse All button collapses all items that have been
expanded in the information window. |
|
The Configure Assign Rules button specifies the rules for
assigning year types to data items according to their picture clauses or
patterns in their names. |
|
The Definition of Usage button located in Revolve editors
and the Source view, displays the line of code where the
selected item is defined. |
|
The Delete Components button, located on the Project
Manager as a button and on the Project menu as an option,
allows for selected components to be deleted from the project. This
option is available only to the project administrators. The Delete...button
appears in several Revolve windows and functions specifically to delete
selected items from existing databases. |

The Display Filters button is for setting options on how to
display the candidate list or worksheet and for setting filters for
hiding entries temporarily. |
|
The Display selected items in a set viewer button makes a
set out of the items that you have selected in the year 2000 candidate
list and displays them in a Set View. |
|
The Edit Year Types button is for editing and creating year
types so that you can, for example, adjust the 100-year window to use
for data items of those year types. |
|
The Direction button indicates the direction of the
walk-through process of the Execution Simulator and allows the
direction to be reversed. |
|
The Detail button provides information about the selected
node. |
|
Invokes Display Mode dialog. |
|
The Duplicates button displays more than one item or entity
when appropriate. |
|
The Execution Indirection button, located in the Complete
Project window, displays the Execution Indirection window
where executables and parameters can be added or deleted. |

The Execution Simulator button, located on the button bars
of the Integrated Editor/Split Screen Editor, enables the user
to walk through the logic of the source code. |

The Expand One Level button expands the selected items in
the information window one hierarchical level, starting from the highest
level. |
|
Expand Completely button expands the selected element in
the information window completely through its hierarchical format. |
|
File Mode groups usages by physical file in the Variables
browser. |
|
The Findbutton invokes a Find dialog where elements
can be specified, searched for, and displayed when found. |
|
The Fix button displays the Fix dialog where
selected problems in the Complete Project window are remedied. |
|
The Halstead button, located in the Metrics tool,
invokes the Halstead metrics mode. |
|
This Help button give context-sensitive help on the
relevant window. |
|
This Help button, located at the bottom of the Revolve
desktop, invokes the Micro Focus Revolve Help window. |
|
The Highlight button highlights the selected item with the
current color that is specified on the Color Menu. This
operation is also available from the speed menu. In the Split Screen
Editorthis button allows all highlighting to be turned off. |

The Import Translations button displays the Import
Translations dialog, useful for translating copybook names across a
project. |

The Information button displays the program that contains
the displayed information. |
|
The Inventory View button invokes the Inventory view
for the selected item. |

The Invoke Animator button initiates the Micro Focus
Animator. |
|
The Key Mappings button displays the strokes used for
keyboard commands and allows the user to modify the key mappings. |

The Load from File opens a file from any location. In the
year 2000 tools, this loads the date research from the .rev file
that you specify, or the date criteria from the .cri file you
specify. |

The Load Selected button, located on the Project
Manager and as an option on the Project menu, loads or
parsers the selected items into the Revolve database for the current
project. |
|
The Level/Size/Offset button, located in the Data
Structure view, displays the level, size, and offset for the items. |
|
The Make button updates the project files with information
that has been added or modified since the last load. |
|
The Mark button marks nodes to simplify element
identification. |
|
The McCabe button, available in the Metrics tool,
invokes the McCabemetrics mode. |
|
The McClure button, available in the Metrics tool,
invokes the McClure metrics mode. |
|
The Modification Driver button invokes the Modification
Driver dialog where source code tags and additions for the selected
item in the information window can be defined. |

The Move Annotation to Private button changes an
annotation's classification to private. |
|
The Move Annotation to Public button changes an
annotation's classification to public. |

The Next Usage button, located in the Integrated
Editor/Split Screen Editor and Source view, advances the
cursor to the next occurrence of the selected item. |

The New Annotation button invokes a blank annotation form
for the creation of a new annotation. Located in the Annotation tool. |

The New File button creates new editing workspace in the
Integrated Editor. |
|
The Options button enables you to customize the behavior
and appearance of the tool where the button appears. |
|
The Overview Panel button, changes view perspective so that
the entire illustration can fit in the window. |
|
The Overview Window button invokes a side window that
illustrates the component in its entirety. Useful for understanding
where elements are located. |
|
The PIC Expander button automates the expansion of data
items PICTURE clauses for example from 2-digits to 4-digits. |
|
The Power Keys button, located at the bottom of the Revolve
desktop, displays a menu of the short-cut commands available to the
user. The shortcut commands can be executed from this menu as well as
from the specified keys. |

The Previous Usage button, located in the Integrated
Editor/Split Screen Editor and Source view, displays the
previous occurrence of the selected item. |
|
The Print button displays the Print dialog from
which users can print information displayed within Revolve information
windows. All information that has not been expanded in the information
window will not be printed. |

The Project Manager button, located at the bottom of the
Revolve desktop, displays the Project Manager window. This
command is also available as Manager on the Project
menu. |

The Process Schedules button displays the Process
Schedules window where schedules and processes can be added or
deleted. |

The Refocus button makes the currently selected node the
root of the illustration. |
|
The Remove From List button removes the selected item from
the information window. |
|
The Repeat Last Search button, located in the Integrated
Editor/Split Screen Editor and Source view, repeats the last
performed search or invokes a new Search dialog. |

The Reports button offers a list of reports on your year
2000 findings. |
|
The Reset button resets the tool or window to its initial
status. |
|
The Review button displays the Review dialog where
important element information is displayed. |

The Run/Stop button initiates or stops a process specific
to where it is located. For example, this button starts and stops the
Execution Simulatorin the Integrated Editor/Split Screen
Editor. |

The Save all Modifications button saves all modifications
that have been made in the current Revolve session. |
|
The Save as File button invokes a Save As dialog.
The Revolve user can rename and save existing files in other directories
or on other drives. |
|
The Save Date Criteria button saves the criteria you used
to include candidates in the candidate list, together with the filters
you used for excluding candidates. The criteria is saved in a file with
a .cri extension. |

The Save Date Research button saves the candidate list and
the criteria you used to include candidates in the list together with
the filters you used for excluding candidates and the individual
candidates that you removed. Also any impact information you collected
from an Impact Analysis is saved. All this research is saved in a file
with a .rev extension. |

The Save to File button saves the current information to a
specified file. In the Year 2000 tools, this saves the candidate list to
a text file. It is saved expanded or compressed to the same extent as it
is currently displayed. |

the selected item. |

The Search all Project Files button initiates the search in
the Text browser for all current project files. |

The Select Year Type button is for allocating a year type
to a data item, where the year type defines how the data item should be
handled when fixing year 2000 problems. |

The Shortcut to Display Filters button is a shortcut to the
display filters for data items, usages, text strings or literals,
depending on what is selected in the candidate list. |

The Show Reason for Inclusion button shows the reason the
candidate is included in the list, such as the criteria used in the
wizard that the candidate matches. |

The SmartFix button enables you to review and change the
automatically generated fixes for the selected statements. |

The Sort button allows the user to specify how information
should be displayed in the information window. |
|
The Sort Ascending button sorts the candidates in a set
into alphabetical order. |
|
The Sort Descending button sorts the candidates in a set
into reverse alphabetical order. |
|
The Specify search files button allows searches in the Text
browser to be specified to particular files. |
|
The Status Bar button displays the status bar for the
current interface or window. The status bar displays information about
the name, status, and location of the selected item. |

The Step/False/Over/Error button processes the false branch
of a conditional statement or skips the simulation of the statements
inside of a branch statement, depending on context. Located in the Execution
Simulator. |

The Step/True/Into button advances the Execution
Simulator process to the next statement, processes the true branch
of a conditional statement, or processes statements inside of an
exception statement, depending on context. |

The Text Replace button displays a Replace dialog
where changes can be made to surce code across an entire application.
Located in the Integrated Editor/Split Screen Editor. |

The Text Search dialog displays a Search dialog
where text strings can be entered and found across an entire
application. Located in the Integrated Editor/ Split Screen Editor
and Source view. |

The Undo selection button undoes the last move, edit, etc. |

The Variable Data button displays the Variables used to
access data or invoke programs dialog. The variables that apply are
listed. |

The View Source Code button splits the screen and displays
the source code in the bottom half of the screen. |
