Preface

This book describes the SmartFind Plus package and how you can use it to help solve the year 2000 problem in an application. The book also explains the underlying Revolve software, its graphical environment and the tools integrated with it.

Structure of this Book

This book is divided into the following parts:

• Part 1 Introduction - This gives an overview of the product and describes the strategy and process for solving year 2000 problems with the product.

• Part 2 Preparation - This describes how to prepare a project for single and group users.

• Part 3 Year 2000 Functions - This describes how to use the various features of SmartFind Plus and Revolve/2000.

• Part 4 General Purpose Functions - This describes the base Revolve product.

• Part 5 Language Support - This describes language support within SmartFind Plus.

• Part 6 Appendices - These contain additional reference material.

Additional Documentation

The following documentation might also be useful to you:

• Help, which gives the details of how to use SmartFind Plus, Revolve/2000 and the underlying Revolve software, such as what keys to click, and how to fill in the dialogs.

• Getting Started, which provides tutorials on how to use SmartFind Plus.

• Metering Administration Guide, which describes how to enable SmartFind Plus metering, and how to set up and maintain the metering process for your organization.

  This book is supplied with Metering Administration, which is a separately purchasable product from SmartFind Plus.
