You can configure sessions to connect through a SOCKS proxy server or an HTTP server.
NOTE:
SOCKS is supported for VT, 3270, and 5250 terminals.
HTTP is supported only for VT terminals.
Before you start
Make sure your system has a proxy server or servers and that you know the following information:
If you are setting up a connection to a SOCKS server, know the proxy server address and protocol version.
If you are setting up a connection to an HTTP server, know the proxy server address and port.
To set up a session to connect through a SOCKS proxy server or an SSL/TLS server
From the box, select a document template and click .
In the dialog box, under , enter the Host name/IP address.
Click and then click .
In the Settings dialog box, under , click .
If you are configuring a 3270 or 5250 terminal session, in the Configure Advanced Connection Settings dialog box, Under , click .
On the Security Properties dialog box tab, select r and then select the proxy type:
SOCKS (supported for VT, 3270, and 5250 terminals).
HTTP (supported only for VT).
Click .
If you want to designate only one HTTP proxy server, configure the session for the proxy server as follows:
