In some situations, you may want to move data from one third-party tool into another third-party tool. Micro Focus Connect makes moving information easy. However, there are some caveats you must follow so you don't overwrite data.
StarTeam uses custom properties for third-party tools to identify data that Micro Focus Connect moves from application to application. For example, Rally Stories will have an ExternalID and an ExternalURL. When connecting this information to another third-party tool, that second tool could use the same custom properties. To avoid overwriting this data, create new custom properties for the second third-party tool. For example, if your second third-party tool is Silk Central Test Manager, name the external ID, SCTMExternalID, and name the external URL, SCTMExternalURL.
