System Options Storage page

The Storage page contains system-wide options to do with storage in Content Manager.

  • Transfer documents asynchronously to the Content Manager Workgroup Server - select to have Content Manager transfer documents to the Workgroup Server when there is time, not necessarily when a user checks them in.

Recommended setting with multiple Workgroup Servers operating across a large geographical area, e.g. in different states or countries. Not selected by default.

CAUTION: This option will only work when using Integrated Windows Authenication.

  • Send email notification when document stores approach capacity limits to - use KwikSelect to set the Location Content Manager should notify when a store reaches its set capacity.

Content Manager sends a mail message to the selected Location when a document store reaches a set percentage.

    See Document Stores.

  • Hashing Features

The Hashing Features options become available when the feature Document Hashing is selected in the Content Manager System Options page Features. See System Options Features page.

    • Store a hash of an electronic record for long term document verification - whenever a document is attached to a record, or a new revision created, Content Manager calculates using the standard SHA_256 hash for the document. The hash is then stored with the electronic document.
      • Notify users when they attempt to add a document that matches a stored hash - select for Content Manager to display a warning message when a user attempts to check in an electronic document that is already in the database
      • Prevent creating records that have an identical hash to an existing record - select for Content Manager to prevent users from checking in duplicate electronic documents
    • Use the hash to reduce storage overhead by single instancing documents - select to implement duplicate checking when users check in electronic documents
      • Minimum document size for de-duplication (in KBytes) - to limit de-duplication to electronic documents of a certain size, enter their minimum size in kilobytes (KB). When configured, Content Manager uses de-duplication only for electronic documents bigger than this figure.
    • Use the hash to verify document transfer from client to Workgroup Server - select for the Workgroup Server to verify that each received electronic document is identical to the one that was sent from the client, ensuring guaranteed document transfer. When there is a mismatch, the Workgroup Server logs an error and cancels the storage operation.
    • Use the hash to verify document transfer from workgroup to document store - select for the Workgroup Server to verify that each electronic document that was transferred to the document store is identical to the one that was sent, ensuring guaranteed document transfer. When there is a mismatch, the Workgroup Server logs an error and cancels the storage operation.
  • Restore Multi Compression

    • Enable Verify And Restore Compression - select this option to enable Verify and Restore Compression option.

      • Add rendition of the original document for Verify And Restore Compression - select this option to add rendition of the original document.
