Activity log
The activity log records processes that have occurred during your current Content Manager session.
- On the Manage ribbon, click Online Audit Log.
Content Manager displays all events for the dataset for today. - To refine the search, for example, by date or Location, right-click the list, on the Search menu, click Refine Search, and then enter your criteria. See also Security breaches.
- Select the record, for example, in a search result list.
- From the View menu, select Activity Log Pane.
The activity log appears at the bottom of the Content Manager window.
- Resize the log window by hovering your cursor over the line dividing the activity log from the rest of the Content Manager window so that it changes to a resize cursor and then dragging up or down.
- Close the activity log window by clicking View - Activity Log Pane
- You can drag the activity log to any Content Manager window edge or make it a separate window.
Right-click in the activity log window for the commands:
- Start Logging - starts the activity log - on by default
- Stop Logging - stops the activity log
- Copy - copies the selected item in the activity log.
You can select more than one row.
- Clear - clears the activity log. This will remove everything that has been logged during your current Content Manager session
- Save - saves the activity log to a .log file
- Print - you can print one or more selected rows
- Hyperlink - retrieves the object the log item is about, for example a record or Location.
The Document Queues tab of the activity log displays any documents that have been processed from the document queue during the current Content Manager session.
The Dataset tab of the activity log displays basic dataset activity such as dataset calls, etc.
NOTE: Unless you are a user of user type Administrator, Content Manager will not write any data to the Dataset tab. See Content Manager Enterprise Studio Help about logging in Content Manager for details regarding the location of the log file.
The Errors tab of the activity log displays any errors that are encountered during the processing of tagged objects.
The errors are also written to the TRIM.exe log in the user's Appdata path, by default, C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Micro Focus\Content Manager\Log
