Redactions

The Redaction function provides a desktop environment tool that enables users to conceal sensitive data, such as personal or commercially sensitive data, in documents so that they can be published to a wider audience. For this functionality to be available, the Redact feature must be selected in the System Options Features page.

Annotations

The Annotation function provides a desktop environment tool that enables users to collaborate on selected documents by adding comments on the electronic document itself. For this functionality to be available, the Annotate feature must be selected in the System Options Features page.

The advantage is that the comments can be seen in context of the document image.

The annotation functionality is based on the concept of margin notes and sticky notes in the paper world.

Annotations and redactions will change the appearance of the original document without changing the actual original content.
