Web publisher
Hypertext Markup Language or HTML is a system of marking up or tagging a document so it can be published on the World Wide Web.
Documents prepared in HTML usually contain reference graphics and formatting tags. A Web browser such as Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Internet Explorer can display these documents.
Content Manager enables you to create Web pages.
The content of these Web pages is the metadata of the items in the Content Manager dataset and the electronic objects associated with the metadata.
You can set up the Web pages to display information that suits you.
To do this, Content Manager enables you to design your own HTML layouts.
To publish information in a Web page, you search for records and send them to the Web publisher function. For this functionality to be available, the feature Web and XML publishing must be selected in the System Options Features page
Information that appears on screen can be sent to a disk file in HTML format. This disk file then becomes a Web page.
If your published data is extensive, it is advisable to create at least two types of Web publisher layouts, one for the basic page and one for the detail page.
The basic page should list only the details that are essential to see each available item - for example, the record number and title - whereas the detailed page should list all the other metadata you want the users to see, for example, notes, date fields etc.
