Function Access Controls

Content Manager modules and functions such as the Content Manager Workflow module, Record Types, reports, etc. constitute class objects (resources).

These objects have scalable Access Control properties that determine access to the module and/or the impact of access on child objects, for example, Locations, records, Workflows, etc.

The ability to use or modify items in these modules depends on the following Access Controls:

• Can Use - allows users to view and therefore use the item
• Can Update - allows users to modify the item
• Can Modify Access - allows users to modify the users who may change the Access Controls for the item
• Can Delete - allows users to delete the item
• Manage Group Items (User Labels, Check in Styles,...) - allows users to manage group items

NOTE: If the Manage Group Items is set to "no-one", the following exceptions apply:

• If the user has the "Modify Logins and User Profiles". See Location Update permissions by user type.
• If the user has "Bypass All Access Controls". See Miscellaneous permissions by user type.
• If the user has the "Can Manage Check In Styles" permission and is a member of the location. See Miscellaneous permissions by user type.
• Can View Details - allows users to be restricted from viewing a location in  Content Manager
