Creating Use terms
- From the Manage ribbon, select Thesaurus Terms.
- Select a term from the existing list of terms, for example, Canine.
- Right-click and select Related Thesaurus Terms.
The Relating Terms To dialogue box appears.
All available terms that can be related to the chosen term in some way are listed.

- Assume that the term Dogs is to be the term to use or preferred over Canine.
To relate the two terms in this way, select the term that is to be related to the chosen term, for example, Dogs.
- Click the appropriate relational button Use.
The selected term will appear in the Related Terms section of the dialogue box with an icon indicating its type of relationship.
You can delete a term relationship by selecting it in this list and clicking Delete.
When a term is related to another term as a Use term, the other term will be related as a Use For term.
