DataPort Project
The Content Manager DataPort Project editor is the primary user interface for DataPort. This is the editor that is used to create and configure Import and Export project files.
To create an Import\Export project using the Content Manager DataPort Project:
- Start DataPort from the Content Manager client, on the Administration ribbon, in the Other group, click Import/Export. Alternatively, from the Content Manager install path, open the TRIMDataPortConfig application.
The Content Manager DataPort - New Project dialog box appears.
- Type the name of the project in the Project Name field.
- If required, type a project description into the Description field.
- Use the KwikSelect to select the Content Manager Database to import data to or export data from.
- From the drop-down list, select the Data Direction for the project. This is where you define if it's an Import or Export.
- From the drop-down list, select the Content Manager Object Type. Select from:

The additional fields that are available on the Content Manager DataPort project dialog box are dependent on the selected Data Direction and Content Manager Object Type.

Before the project file can be run it must be saved. To save the project configuration, click Save.
Once the project has been configured and saved it may be executed as a command line argument to DataPortEngine.exe in the form:
DataPortEngine.exe <Full_Path_To_Project_File>
Alternatively, a Project may be executed by clicking the Execute button.
Content Manager DataPort Project Menus
New
To create a New DataPort project, click New. This will display a blank project window that users can complete to create a new Content Manager DataPort Import/Export Project.
Open
Users can open existing projects to execute or modify. To open an existing Content Manager DataPort Project:
- Click Open.
- From the displayed Open window, navigate to and select the required project.
- Click Open and the project details will be displayed in the Content Manager DataPort Project window.
Logs
Each time an Import or Export is processed using Content Manager DataPort log files are generated. To view these files, click Logs and the default location where the Log files are saved will be displayed.
The log files are grouped by the Project Name and the Log files generated for the project will be saved to this folder.
Help
To view the Content Manager Help File, click Help on the Content Manager DataPort Engine window and the Content Manager DataPort Help File will open in a new window.
