Custom jobs

Using Work with Jobs, you can create custom jobs that can be submitted by the z/OS engine just as the default preloaded jobs are submitted. To so this, Data Express provides a wizard into which you put a job name, the name of the MVS skeleton used to execute the JCL, a job description, and job parameters.

You can choose the job parameters from a list that enables you to select the scope of various Data Express operations. The list contains the following parameters:

• Machine ID
• Company
• Copybook PDS
• Copybook name
• Application ID
• DB owner or DL/I DBD
• Data store type
• Data store name
• Data store version
• Record format
• Method
• Group
• Code

In addition, you can create custom parameters. You must supply the following information for each custom parameter you create:

• Name
• Description
• Length
• Type (alphanumeric or numeric)
