Managing an online shared mailbox

As an assistant administrator, you can use DRA to manage Online Shared Mailbox and modify Online Shared Mailbox properties when Microsoft Entra ID is configured by the DRA Administrator.

Execute a search operation to locate and select the required Online Shared Mailbox object. After you select one or more objects in the list, the taskbar becomes active with options such as create, delete and modify properties. You can also download search results as a CSV file. Click the options to display their functions.

Create an online shared mailbox

You can create an Online Shared Mailbox with mailbox delegations in Microsoft Entra ID.

Modify an online shared mailbox properties

You can manage the properties of Online Shared Mailboxes in Microsoft Entra ID. 

The powers you have determine which properties you can modify for an Online Shared Mailbox. You can manage mailbox policies, set delivery restrictions and options, set storage limits, delegate mailbox permissions, place litigation on hold, manage email addresses and so on.

Delete an online shared mailbox

You can delete an Online Shared Mailbox from Microsoft Entra ID, but it cannot be restored from DRA.
