Create an MSS-enabled Enterprise Server

To create an MSS-enabled enterprise server:

  1. Launch Eclipse using the workspace c:\tutorials.
  2. Open Server Explorer.

If it is hidden, display it by choosing Window > Show View > Server Explorer.

  3. Right-click Local [localhost:86], and click New > Enterprise Server.
Tip: If you are not currently signed on to the current enterprise server, the Enterprise Server Sign On dialog box appears: click OK to sign on as the SYSAD user. (Alternatively, click Use specific server credentials, then enter a valid username and password.)

The New Enterprise Server dialog box appears.

  4. Type JCLDEMO in the Name field.
  5. If you plan to create a 64-bit JCL application, check the 64-bit box, otherwise leave it unchecked.
  6. Click the browse button next to the Template field.

This opens the location of the Enterprise Developer server templates, which is %ProgramFiles(x86)%\Micro Focus\Enterprise Developer\etc\ServerTemplates by default.

  7. Select JCLTemplate.xml, and click Open.
  8. Click Finish.

In Server Explorer, expand Local [localhost:86] to check to see that the server has been added. By using the template, the server already has the necessary options selected for MSS enablement.
