Logging on to the mainframe

If the Mainframe Explorer window is not displayed, click View > Mainframe Explorer.
  1. In the Mainframe Explorer window, right-click the mainframe connection, then click Connect.

    The Log on to the mainframe screen appears.

  2. In the User Identification field, type your mainframe user ID, or click GUID-CEF267F3-CF00-469A-8535-582EA8DE5CDC-low.png and select a previously used ID.
  3. In the Password section, type your password in the Current field.
    Tip: To change the password, type a new password in the New and Repeat fields.
  4. In the Port field, type the port number to connect to, or click GUID-CEF267F3-CF00-469A-8535-582EA8DE5CDC-low.png and select a previously used port number.
  5. In the Session timeout(M) field, type the amount of IDE inactivity (in minutes) before the session disconnects from the mainframe.
  6. Click OK.
If this is the first time that you have logged on, there will be no catalog information displayed. You need to add one or more catalog search filters.
