To Define a Client Connection to a Host CICS System

To define a client connection to a host CICS system use the Enterprise Server Administration interface.

  1. Open the Enterprise Server Administration screen, and on the administration page click Start next to the name of the CICS server you want to use.
  2. ClickDetails next to the name of the server and navigate to Server...> Control> ES Monitor and Control. The Server information page is displayed.
  3. In the Resources panel on the sidebar, choose by Group from the list and then click Groups.
  4. Add a new group or choose a group to add your connection definition to. Click Details next to the group's name.
  5. On the details page click Sys62. This opens the page for creating a LU6.2 system connection.
  6. Enter the following values:
    • Name of the Sys62.

      This name does not relate to any other setting on the mainframe. The name value you choose for this is the one you use in your programs or in a terminal.

      For example CRTE SYSID=XXXX where XXXX is the name of the Sys62 connection that you have defined here.

    • (Optional) Description of the Sys62.
    • In the LU Alias field, enter the independent LU name for your PU as defined on VTAM.
    • In the Partner Alias field, enter the APPLID of the remote CICS system.
    • In the Net Name, enter the APPLID of the remote system or region.
    • In the APPLID field, enter the APPLID of the local system as defined to the host.
    • In the Mode table field, enter the mode table that the SNA Server and the host are to use.
    • In the Session maximum field, enter the maximum number of sessions between LU-LU pairs. The maximum number supported is: 5.
  7. Click Group list to return to the group’s details page.
  8. Click PPT. The Processing Program Table page opens.
  9. Enter the following values:
    • PPT name.
    • (Optional) Description.
    • Remote SysID. The value should be equal to the name you have entered for the Sys62.
  10. Return to the Server home page.
