Security Auditing

The security audit facility is sometimes useful for diagnostic purposes. It maintains a record of security decisions (user sign-on succeeded, resource access request denied, etc). It needs the Audit Manager to be running: you can start it from the command line, or as a service on Windows or a daemon on UNIX. You configure it with a configuration file that is specified with the ‘-c <filename>’ option.
