About MFDaemon

MFDaemon is a process that runs on your PC to maintain mainframe login access details. With mainframe credentials:
  • When you start a mainframe access session on your PC, MFDaemon checks for an .INI file and loads any login configurations that it contains.
  • When you edit a node to set login credentials for the node, MFDaemon saves these credentials and supplies them as required when access authentication is required.
Note: Although not encrypted, the password is saved in the .INI file in a non-human-readable format.

You can use the MFACLIENTINI environment variable to set the name of the .INI file. If this variable is not set, the default name and path of the .INI file is:

c:\users\USERNAME\appdata\roaming\micro focus\mfaclient.ini
