How to Report a Support Incident (SI)

All incidents should be reported either through the SupportLine website or via your local Freephone Support number – this is shown on the SupportLine website.

We recommend you report incidents through the website. General instructions are:

  1. Go to http://supportline.microfocus.com and login (at the left in the margin).
  2. If you do not have a Web ID to login, register for one (on the Log In page below the login fields).
  3. Report the SI online (under “My Incidents”).
  4. Give the incident an informative short description (see the topic Providing an Informative Short Description).
  5. Attach all relevant information that might be useful in supporting the issue diagnosis. They type of problem you are encountering affects this, but in general it should include the following:
    • The MFESdiags output as described above
    • Step–by–step instructions to reproduce the error
    • Any sample programs that can be used to reproduce the problem. Ideally, provide a zip file containing everything necessary to build any program(s)
    • Any directives used if there are problems with compilation
    • Make a note of any Micro Focus consulting FDS or other utility that is being used and attach to the incident if possible
