To export connections

  1. Start the ADO.NET Connection Editor.
  2. To ensure that the connection(s) you want to export display on the Data Source Names list, set the options on the Settings Menu icon (Settings) menu as required. For a description of each option, see Settings menu.
  3. On the Data Source Names list, select the data sources you want to export, or check Select all connections. To select more than one connection, hold the Ctrl key down as you make your selections.
  4. Click Export Connections(Export) on the toolbar. This starts the Export ADO.NET Connections wizard.
  5. In the Export to field, type the full path to and filename of an XML file you want to contain exported information, or click Browse (Browse) to select a directory.
    Note:
    • If you choose to type in the full path and filename, you can name the file anything you want.
    • If you choose to browse to select a directory, the Connection Editor uses the default filename MFconnectInfo.xml. You can overtype the filename with a different name of your choice.
  6. Click Next.
  7. Review your export selections; then click Finish.
