To add a Data Source Name (DSN) for an ODBC driver

  1. Click Start > All Programs > Micro Focus Enterprise Developer > Data Tools > Data Connections > ODBC Data Source Administrator.
    Note: The Start menu is not available on Windows 8, Windows 8.1, and Windows Server 2012. You use the Start screen to invoke programs.
  2. On the System DSN tab, click Add.
  3. Select Micro Focus XDB for Studio 6.0, from the list of ODBC drivers.
  4. Click Finish.
  5. Configure the DSN by filling in the following fields:
    • Data Source Name - Any name you choose.
    • XDB Path – Accept the default of %ProgramData%\Micro Focus\Enterprise Developer\mfsql\cfg.
    • Connection – Choose between local and remote. If you choose remote, specify the IpAddress and TcpPort of your XDB server.
    • Server – The name of your XDB Server.
    • Location – The XDB location you want to use.
    • User ID – The XDB userid to use when connecting with this data source.
    • Current SQLID – The authorization ID to use when connecting with this data source (optional). If you don't specify an SQLID, the UserID is used.
  6. Click OK to close the ODBC Driver Setup window.
  7. Click OK to close the ODBC Data Source Administrator.
