Adding Programs and BMS Maps to a Database at Region Startup

Region startup files can be configured to deploy programs and BMS maps to the region or the cross-region database automatically during region startup.

Note: You cannot automatically deploy configuration or data files during region startup. You must always deploy these files manually.

You specify which files are auto-deployed in the region startup file. Note the following points:

Files specified for auto-deployment to the region database are always uploaded at region startup, provided the source location is valid.

Files specified for auto-deployment to the cross-region database are uploaded at region startup only if the source location is valid and the file does not already exist in the database. This prevents conflict with other regions using the cross-region database.

Files cannot be auto-deployed to a user-defined database.

Note:

You cannot automatically deploy programs and BMS maps to a user-defined database.

Remember:
  • A program or BMS map auto-deployed to the region database uploads whenever the region is cold-started regardless of whether it already exists in the region database.
  • A program or BMS map auto-deployed to the cross-region database uploads when the region is cold-started only if it does not already exist in the cross-region database. You must either re-load the program or map manually, or remove it from the cross-region database before you cold-start the region.
