To start an Enterprise Developer command prompt as an administrator

Restriction: This topic applies to Windows environments only.

Depending on the location of files created from an Enterprise Developer command prompt, you might need to start it as an administrator. To do this:

Windows 7 and Earlier
  1. From your desktop, click Start > All Programs > Micro Focus Enterprise Developer > Tools.
  2. Depending on your operating system, right-click either Enterprise Developer Command Prompt (32-bit) or Enterprise Developer Command Prompt (64-bit); then select Run as administrator from the context menu.
  3. If prompted, click Yes.
Windows 8, 8.1, and Windows Server 2012
  1. From the Start screen, right-click either the Enterprise Developer Command Prompt (32-bit) or the Enterprise Developer Command Prompt (64-bit) tile.
  2. On the bottom of the page, click Run as administrator.
  3. If prompted, click Yes.
Windows 10 and Later
  • Click Start > Micro Focus Enterprise Developer > Enterprise Developer, right-click Command Prompt (32-bit) or Enterprise Developer Command Prompt (64-bit) and click More > Run as Administrator.
