To Edit an XA Resource

Note: Dynamic update of the XA Resource properties for an active enterprise server region is currently a technology preview feature only. It is being made available to allow you to test and provide feedback on this new capability; however, this feature is not intended for production use and it is not supported as such.
  1. In the table of servers on the Home page of Enterprise Server Administration, click Edit to the left of the row for the server that owns the XA resource you want to edit.
  2. Click the XA Resources tab.
  3. Click Edit next to the XA resource you want to edit.
Warning: If you edit the ID of an enabled resource, it effectively creates a new resource whilst leaving the previously-named resource active in memory. To create a resource with the intended ID, the recommended action is to delete the enabled resource, and add a new one using the new ID.
  4. Update the attributes on the page as required.
  5. Click OK.
Note: If you have edited the resource whilst the region is running, any in-flight transactions are processed using the previous details, then the changes come into effect for the next available connection.

To reconnect to an XA resource following an error

Set the ES_xxxxx_NB_RETRIES environment variables in Configuration Information on the Edit Server page, where xxxxx is the ID of the resource. This specifies the number of times a SEP will attempt to reconnect to the XA resource following an error. The default is 5. If no connection is made, the switch is disabled.
