The FCT maintains control information of all files used under CICS. For each file used, the FCT contains:
- The file name and type, such as KSDS, ESDS, or RRDS.
- A list of the valid file control operations.
- Information on the records, such as minimum and maximum length, whether they are read sequentially or randomly, and if they
can be deleted or modified.
