You can import data views directly from DDI symbols files generated using a previous version of the AppMaster Builder or APS for z/OS products. For each imported DDISYMB file, the data view importer creates a metadata file in the DDIMETA directory. The metadata file has the same name as the DDISYMB file. The importer also adds the data view represented in the DDISYMB file to the Data View Explorer. If a DDISYMB file contains VSAM records, the import process also creates a DDIVSAM file in the DDIVSAM directory. The DDIVSAM file also has the same name as the DDISYMB file.
