Configure Region and Cross-Region Databases in Db2

Attention: This feature is in Early Adopter Product (EAP) release status. We will continue the development of additional features and provide additional interfaces via patch updates and future releases. Please contact Micro Focus SupportLine if you require further clarification.

You can connect to a Db2 database using two methods. The recommended method is to use connection strings, as these can be used for both 32-bit and 64-bit client connections. Connection strings are configured using the connect attribute within MFDBFH.cfg. You can also connect using the ODBC DSN method that is used for other database types.

Db2 region and cross-region databases can be created in their own database, or you can store them in a single database. This database may also contain one or more datastore databases.

Use these steps to configure region and cross-region databases in Db2.
