The
ESCWA server can communicate through multiple channels and across multiple hosts.
Micro Focus strongly recommends that you secure your channels of communication to ensure that your data and applications remain secure.
Communications that are not secured risk being attacked and/or intercepted, leading to data breach and ultimately impacting
on your organization's reputation.
Micro Focus recommends:
- You use one set of certificate(s) and key(s) per host, which all components on that host should use.
- Certificates across all the hosts should be signed by the same Certificate Authority (CA) to simplify configuration and management.
- That if your DemoCA installation on UNIX is in a non-standard location, you can use the COBSSL environment variable to point
to the new location.
Enterprise Server can use the following list of communication channels:
- ESCWA to MF Directory Server.
- ESCWA to ESMAC (enterprise server instance).
- Communications Process to MF Directory Server.
- ESCWA to ES for .NET.
Note: Typically, TLS communications do not need to be implemented for communications which are set to communicate via loopback only.
