Restriction: This topic applies only when the AppMaster Builder AddPack has been installed, and applies only to Windows platforms.
Alternate Editor
The full path to and executable file name of a third-party editor to use instead of the default AppMaster Builder editor.
Note: Preferences specified for Program Painter and Report Painter do not apply to third-party editors.
Background color
The default background color used for the Program Painter and the Report Painter.
Default foreground
The foreground color used with color preferences set for each AppMaster Builder editor.
Read-Only mode
Background color
The background color used in each AppMaster Builder editor when viewing code in read-only mode, which applies to mainframe files and protected files.
Basic Color mode group
Use basic foreground color
Check to set one background and foreground color combination.
Important: When checked, this setting overrides the colors set in Background color and Default foreground on this page. It also overrides colors set on the Program Painter and Report Painter Colorization preferences pages.
Basic colors
Double-click one of the six color combinations to set the Background color and Foreground color fields. Available when Use basic foreground color is checked.
Note: The Basic colors label reflects the color combination selected.
Background color
The basic background color set in the editor. Populate this field by double-clicking one of the color combinations under Basic colors. Applies when Use basic foreground color is checked.
Foreground color
The basic foreground color set in the editor. Populate this field by double-clicking one of the color combinations under Basic colors. Applies when Use basic foreground color is checked.
Cursor style group
Use cross hair cursor
Check this to use a cross-hair cursor in the Program and Report Painters.
Color
Sets the color used for the cross-hair cursor. Click to invoke the Color dialog box for color selection. Available when Use cross hair cursor is checked.
Size
The line thickness of the cross-hair cursor, from 1 to 15 pixels.
Note: You can toggle a cross-hair cursor on and off, and change the cursor color and thickness on the fly using keystroke combinations. See To customize the Program Painter and To customize the Report Painter for details.
