To bind an application to a DB2 database

Restriction: This topic applies to Windows environments only.
  1. Build your application.
  2. Ensure that client security for SQL Option is enabled.
  3. From the main menu, click Run > Tools > Data Tools > SQL Option for DB2 > Configuration > Bind Utility.
  4. Select the location of the DB2 database from the Remote Location list.
  5. Type your current SQLID in SQLID.
  6. Click Bind.
  7. Make the selections you require on the Bind Package dialog box.
  8. Click OK.
Note: You need only bind an application when you are executing static SQL against a remote DB2 location accessed using DRDA. The database must be configured in system tables on the gateway XDB Server. Contact your system administrator if you experience difficulty in locating or binding to a DB2 database.
