The Error File

Restriction: This topic applies to Windows environments only.

The Error File reports the number and type of errors detected while migrating your tables. An error file is created each time you select it in the Run dialog box; however, it will contain errors only if errors were generated by a migration.

To request an error file, select the Error File checkbox in the Run dialog box when you execute your migration. Type the name of the file to which you want the report written in the text-entry field next to the checkbox. If this file does not exist, Migrate creates it. If it exists, Migrate overwrites it with the new report.

Note:

You can specify the same filename for the Error File and the Post Execution Analysis to combine both reports into a single file.

To view the error file after a migration has been executed, open the file using the Error File command on the View menu. Migrate automatically displays the last Error File specified. To display a report other than the last one, specify the file with the Migrate command on the Options menu before you select the Error File command.

If you want to print the report once it is displayed, choose Print from the File menu.
