The Object Menu

Restriction: This topic applies to Windows environments only.

The Object menu provides different commands for manipulating tables, such as, defining defaults, displaying related tables, and how tables are to be displayed. It is also used to define a query.

The Object menu contains the following commands:

Define Query Opens a Query window. Using this window, you can define a specific SELECT statement to migrate certain rows or columns of a table or to combine data from different tables into one result.
Table/Query Options Displays the Table Options or Query Options dialog box (depending on whether a Query window or a table in the Schema Viewer is active). Use this command to set specific options for the selected table or query window.
Note:

To set default options for all subsequent tables and queries, use Table/Query Defaults on the Options menu.

Show Dependent Automatically places in the Schema Viewer all tables that are dependent on the selected table.

You can also invoke this command from the table's Control-menu
*
button.

Show Referenced Automatically places in the Schema Viewer all tables that are referenced by the selected table.

You can also invoke this command from the table's Control-menu
*
button.

Remove Removes the selected table from the Schema Viewer.

You can also invoke this command from the table's Control-menu
*
button.

Roll Up Displays tables in the Schema Viewer in abbreviated form. When rolled-up, tables are represented by just a table name. Column information is not shown.
Roll Down Displays tables in the Schema Viewer in detailed form. When rolled-down, the names of columns are listed with the table.
Arrange Arranges the tables within the Schema Viewer so that lines of reference can be easily seen.
