The Security Tab

The Security tab allows you to set your security options. The CLIENT SECURITY option is important if you want to turn security on for your copy of the XDB Server.

Only if security is on for the XDB Server will password security be fully enforced. The global security options are only available with XDB Server 4.0 or later.

If security is on at the XDB Server you will be accessing, you must check the CLIENT SECURITY check box. If security at the XDB Server is off, you can check or not check this box as desired. Using CLIENT SECURITY when security is not required by the XDB Server will provide password security at your workstation.

Specifies the rules that must be satisfied by your password. The password enforcement levels are:

Level 1: Password must be four or more characters.
Level 2: Password must be six or more characters and include at least one digit.
Level 3: Password must be six or more characters, include at least one digit and must include the two randomly generated characters that appear in the prompt message when the user creates or modifies their password.

The passwords created or modified by users must meet the criteria for the current password enforcement level.
