Setting Import Defaults

Restriction: This topic applies to Windows environments only.

The Default Settings dialog box allows you to specify your preferred settings for import options. Choosing your own defaults means that each time you open a new Import window, your preferred settings will be in effect automatically. You can revert to SQLWizard's suggested default values at any time by clicking the Defaults button.

Default values can be set for Free-format ASCII, Fixed-format ASCII, and DSNTIAUL formats. In addition, you can set default values for the insert mode, commit interval, existing table append/replace option, and number of records to be read for the recalculate table function.

Instructions for how to set import options are provided below.

To set default parameters for Import:

  1. Click the Defaults command from the Import menu.

SQLWizard displays the Default Settings dialog box.

  2. Select the desired defaults in each section of the dialog box. To revert to SQLWizard's suggested defaults, click the Defaults button.
  3. Click OK. The new defaults are available the next time you open a new Import window.
