Using Batch Import

Restriction: This topic applies to Windows environments only.

When you enter import specifications and use the Save As command from the File menu, you are saving the contents of the Import window. The saved file is a Batch Import file containing one import transaction. It has an .imp file name extension. A Batch Import file can also be created using any ASCII text editor. You can preview how an import specification would look as a batch file by clicking on Batch Import Commands from the View menu.

Batch Import is particularly useful when you have a number of similar files to import, or when you import the same files on a regular basis. Once you have created a Batch Import file, you may use it over and over, with or without modification.
