To Set Up and Start the User Interface for the First Time

The Enterprise Server for .NET user interface is provided as a Microsoft Management Console (MMC) snap-in. When you start the user interface, the MMC opens and loads the snap-in.
Note: When starting the user interface the first time after either installing the product, a re-boot, or applying operating system updates, run the wassetup command. This command configures IIS and WAS if required, and ensures that all required services are running. This procedure includes the details.
  1. From the Windows Start menu, click Micro Focus Enterprise Developer > Tools > Enterprise Developer Command Prompt.
Note: 64 bit systems have a 32-bit and a 64-bit command prompt available. It does not matter which one you use to run the wassetup command.
  2. At the command prompt, type wassetup and click Enter to run the command with the default -i parameter.

Messages show the command's progress. When the command completes, the command window displays the message Operation successfully completed.

  3. From the Windows Start menu, click Micro Focus Enterprise Developer > Configuration > Enterprise Server for .NET Admin .

The MMC starts with the Enterprise Server for .NET snap-in loaded.
