Resource Access Control

The MLDAP ESM Module lets you control access to resources managed by Enterprise Server, by specifying rules in the LDAP repository. A rule associates one or more resources with an Access Control List (ACL), and the ACL defines what type of access various users and groups have to the resource. When an application tries to use a resource, Enterprise Server asks ESF whether the request (a particular action, such as updating, applied to a particular resource, such as a dataset) should be allowed. If ESF is configured to use the MLDAP ESM Module, the module will find the most-appropriate resource access rule and apply its ACL to decide whether the request is permitted.
