Duplicate a Record

  1. In the Micro Focus Data File Tools window, ensure you have a non-indexed data file open. If you are in Shared mode, click The Switch to Exclusive Mode icon (Switch to Exclusive Mode).
  2. Select the required record to duplicate, then use one of the following:
    • On the Edit menu, click Duplicate Record.
    • Right-click the record, then select Duplicate Record.
    • Press F5.
    • On the Edit menu, click Copy (or press Ctrl+C), and then on the Edit menu, select Paste Before (or press Ctrl+Alt+V) or select Paste After (or press Ctrl+V).
    Tip: You can select multiple consecutive records to duplicate at once using one of the following selection methods:
    • To select a range of records, click on the first record you need, then hold the SHIFT key and click on the last record you need.
    • To select all records in the current page, press CTRL + A.

    The record is duplicated.

    Note: Duplicated records are saved automatically unless you are using a temporary file during editing; in which case, you must use the Save all... or Revert all... option after the record has been duplicated.
