Initializing Segments and Fields

You can initialize a single field or all the fields in a segment. You might want to do this for testing purposes, or to reset a field or segment that contains invalid data. Initialization replaces the data in the field or segment, changing:

• Alphanumeric fields to all spaces
• Numeric fields to all zeros

Initialization does not affect conditions applied to fields by conditional segment layouts.
