Note: For Windows, the Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) service must be started for the THRESHOLD feature to work.

For Enterprise Server regions that support CICS or JES, you can specify a threshold that will trigger a warning message and/or a threshold that triggers a warning message followed by a task purge (kill) function which operates within a target region. The thresholds can be specified for each of the following:

Warning messages are sent to the console. See CASKC6000 - CASKC6019 and CASKC6020 - CASKC6039 for more information on returned warning messages.

Note: There are no constraints on the combination of warning or purge thresholds that can be specified.
Name
The THRESHOLD name is a transaction match name. You can specify a prefix followed by the wildcard *. For example, the threshold name of AC* will match any transaction starting with AC, such as AC01, ACCT, and so forth.

For CICS, if the program starts with DFH*, EZACIC*, but excluding DFHWB*, the threshold will not be applied to the transaction.

Default values can be defined for CICS, JES, IMS, or CGI by creating a threshold name of =CIC, =JES, =IMS, or =CGI respectively.

Note: The CGI type will apply to the ESCWA and ESMAC casrdxxx modules.
