Restriction: This topic applies only when the AppMaster Builder AddPack has been installed, and applies only to Windows platforms.
- To determine whether 8dot3names is enabled or not

- Open a command prompt.
- Change to the drive where
Enterprise Developer is installed.
- Navigate to your primary AppMaster Builder directory.
- Run
dir /x. When the 8dot3names are enabled, the long-named directories show a second name. For example,
cmdgenxml shows
CMDGEN~1 and
mainframe shows
MAINFR~1.
- If also using Distributed Generation Server, change to its primary directory and run
dir /x there as well.
- To enable 8dot3names
- In the directory where you want to enable 8dot3names, run
fsutil 8dot3names set.
