Generating a Code Search Report

Note: This functionality is only available if you are connected to a Micro Focus Enterprise Analyzer or COBOL Analyzer repository.

Your IDE must be connected to an Enterprise Analyzer or COBOL Analyzer repository that has a workspace for the application you want to analyze. In your IDE, you have a subset of the application files that you might be editing, and you might need to perform various analysis on them in the context of all application source code.

A Code Search Report consists of a number of Single Code Searches. An Enterprise Analyzer or COBOL Analyzer administrator sets up the Code Search Reports and can create new reports that will be available to you.

To select and generate a code search report:

  1. Right-click the workspace for your application under Micro Focus Analysis Servers, and click Generate a Code Search Report.

This opens the Generate a Code Search Report for WorkspaceName dialog box which lists the reports available from Enterprise Analyzer or COBOL Analyzer.

  2. Select a report type in the left-hand pane, and then select the specific report you want to run against your sources.
  3. Click OK.

This opens the Code Search Results view.
