After generating a service interface and then subsequently making changes to the COBOL linkage section or map file used to
generate it, or to certain COBOL-related project properties such as character set or platform target (i.e., bitism), use the
Refresh Annotations feature to update the service interface with the changes.
- In Solution Explorer, right-click your project; then click
Refresh Annotations for Services.
- Click either
Programs/Copybooks or
Maps to populate the list.
Tip: On the Refresh Annotations dialog box, a red exclamation point icon
![Annotations Exclamation Point](GUID-8E4F344C-87A0-49C3-8DB2-A2166B213B5E-low.jpg)
appears next to programs and copybooks that have had code changes since generating a service interface; a green check mark
icon
![Annotations Check](GUID-982DE770-FB16-4860-801A-C1588AF0C404-low.jpg)
appears next to programs and copybooks that remain unchanged since generating a service interface. You should refresh annotations
for each source file that shows

.
Programs and copybooks, or maps that are synchronized with all service interfaces that use them do not require refreshing,
and are listed with a green check mark icon to the left
.
- Click each program, copybook, or map you want to refresh, or click
Auto Select to select all that contain code that is out of date.
- Click
Refresh; then click
Close.
