To configure the DCAS transaction from the UI

Note: This is a technology preview feature only. It is being made available to allow you to test and provide feedback on this new capability; however, this feature is not intended for production use and it is not supported as such.
  1. Make a backup copy of the ResourceDefinitions.config file, located by default in ProgramData%\Micro Focus\Enterprise Server\5.0\SEE\Config:
  2. Start the Enterprise Server for .NET UI. If you need instructions, see To start Enterprise Server for .NET Administration.
  3. In the Tree pane, expand SEE Administration > Configuration Editors, and then select CICS Resource.

    The CICS Resources File Editor opens in the Results pane.

  4. If the ResourceDefinitions.config file is not already open in the CICS Resources File Editor, select File > Open, and navigate to and double-click the ResourceDefinitions.config file.
  5. In the left pane, click Groups.
  6. In the right pane, double-click the group you want to update with the DCAS transaction.
    Note: The DFHDCAS group is a system group and cannot be edited from the UI; therefore, choose one of your existing groups or create a new group. If you create a new group, be sure to add it to the startup list specified in your region's SIT.
  7. Add a PCT with these parameters:
    Option Values

    Name

    Select the Hexadecimal name option and specify the name as ffc4c3c1

    Program name

    dfhzdcas

    Description

    DCAS system service

    Note: Other parameters can be left with their default values.
  8. Click File > Save.
