Removing a Region from a PAC

You can temporarily remove a region from a Performance and Availability Cluster (PAC) by stopping the region.

To remove a region from a PAC:

  1. Remove the region from your load balancer, so there is no more work being sent to the region.
  2. Stop the region, the region will complete all transactions and/or batches currently being processed, and then the region will shutdown.

Micro Focus recommends that you use Enterprise Server Common Web Administration (ESCWA) when stopping and starting a region. Alternatively, you can use the casstop or casstart utilities.

The region will automatically rejoin the PAC when the region is restarted.
